Game a Week – Week 02

Happy Sunday!

This week, I had some troubles finding the motivation to get going. Originally, I wanted to make a very simple pet cube simulator. You would tap the screen (most of my games are designed with the iPhone in mind) to interact with the little cube dude – feeding him, playing with him, cleaning up his cube poops. After the first day of work, I realized I wasn’t making nearly as much progress as I needed in order to create something of the level of polish that I wanted. After a while of trying to force the design, I opted to drop it entirely and work on something I knew I could complete. By this time, it was already Thursday night, so I had my work cut out for me. While laying on my bed, face down, staring at the ever growing layer of Sam fur that’s been accumulating over the past month (I literally just got a vacuum today…poor machine doesn’t know what it’s in for), the idea for a simple reaction game came to me. My goal was to create something that looked as elegant as a project from Cipher Prime (with less particles), so I set to work and came up with Cirqle.

Swapping in ‘Q’ for a letter seems to be my theme this month.

I’m also very proud to announce my collaboration on this project with my brother CJ. He rocked out the audio, giving Cirqle a much needed touch of class. Well done, little bro.

As always, any feedback is welcome and appreciated.

HereĀ is Week 02 – Cirqle.

This was surprisingly addictive. The music made me want to try again after I made an error. I played it four times. I never got past 5.
